Agency Narrative Reports

Agency narrative reports let you completely automate client reporting. What makes Jess different is your report is configured to include an interpretation of the results alongside charts and graphs.

Enable Narrative Report

To enable Narrative Reports for clients, access the admin menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Click Customer. In the Add-Ons section, click the check box next to Narrative Reports. Your monthly fee for this service is prominently displayed there for your reference.

Select Users to Receive the Report

Narrative reports can be sent on demand or automatically on the first day of of the month. To set up automatic notifications, access the admin menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Click Notifications. Select the check box under Summary to send the reports to users. If Summary is not available, you haven’t enabled narrative reports and you will need to do this from the Customer screen.

Set up Narrative Report

To set up a report, click Narrative Reports next to the client. You’ll need to set up variables, select what to include in the report, and generate the report.

This section lets you specify what you would like to include in each report segment.

Source of Conversions

The report includes the ability to include information about conversions. It can use conversion data from Google Analytics. If you choose that option, it will use Google Goal completion data. If you are using Jess form or phone tracking add ons, you will most likely want to choose Jess. This will let you include individual leads in your report.

Account Manager Name

Enter the account manager’s or agency’s name if you want to include it in your report.

First Paragraph Text Block and Last Paragraph Text Block

These blocks are included before or after individual report segments, respectively. They come pre-populated with default text. You can enter your own text as well as include variables. The list of available variables and their definition is included at the bottom of the screen. To use a variable, enclose the variable in *| |* (asterisk pipe), for example *|ReportPeriod|*.

Keywords, Clicks, Cost, Conversion, Cost per Conversion, and Leads

These are the report segments available. The report segments for SEO:

  • Keywords
  • Clicks
  • Conversions
  • Leads

And for paid platforms are:

  • Clicks
  • Cost
  • Conversions
  • Cost per Conversion
  • Leads

Like the First and Last Paragraph text blocks, they come pre-populated with default text. You can enter your own text as well as include variables which you will find at the bottom of the screen. Remember to enclose variables in *| |* – for example *|Source|*.

SEO Keywords by Impressions and by Rank

Google Search Console is used to provide keyword impressions and also report on the number of keywords that appear in the top 10 positions of Google Search results. You can include the actual keywords. Enter the number you would like to appear here.

Segments

Choose which segments you’d like to include in the client report. Make sure that connections to all platforms you need are set up properly before you send any reports. Click Update to save your selections.

You can edit your segments at any time. Click Update to save your changes.

Generate Report

Select the date range and if you want to include year over year data in your report.

To make sure the report is working as expected, click Preview to run the report or Email Me to send a copy of the report to the email you used to login.

If you prefer to generate reports on demand rather than automate them, you can click Email Subscribers to email a report directly to anyone set up to receive the Summary notification.
